That said, when testing gigabit adapters, I've found that I really need to test them at gigabit widths (speeds, for those lurkers who think along those lines, though "speed" is more accurately a measurement of latency - or vice-versa). When Doug & I were futzing about with the Broadcom drivers, we tested via a gigabit switch as well as via CAT-6 crossover (which gives an indication of how much bandwidth is lost in switching overhead). We used netio, BTW. Interesting; thanks. Maybe we'll (I'll) have a chance to do some measurements at Warpstock this weekend. Wired or not, I'll post some results if I do. ;-) -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------- Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA, CLP, CLE Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC www.2rosenthals.com Need a managed Wi-Fi hotspot? www.hautspot.com visit my IT blog www.2rosenthals.net/wordpress -------------------------------------------------------------
