I don't have a problem discussing things like that. =A0Sometimes there = are non-OS/2 problems in a network that may appear to be an OS/2 problem. = =A0So discussing generic/OS neutral network configurations could be benefic= ial to many of us.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Besides this list has been a bit quite so it could use some discussion.

Your perspective is welcome, as always. In this case, Thomas' problem w= as entirely related to Windows XP networking, and not even something cross-= platform (if you've ever had a run-in with the "Simple Networking&= quot; "feature" of XP, coupled with its delightful built-in "= ;firewall," you'll have a good idea as to what we had to fix to ge= t his machines talking to each other...).

Yep, I'm familiar with it.=A0 Enable the Guest ac= count and make sure your logging on with an account with a password and it = makes it easier to have a share on each computer on the network regardless = if your using it or not.

Still, I appreciate your point, and it is well taken. Many times, I run int= o things which are not specific to OS/2, but which could, under different c= ircumstances, lead to the same types of difficulties.

Yes, sometimes it's not clear where the fault is.=A0 Just hate= to see someone not ask for help because of a policy.=A0 But I also appreci= ate the consideration.

So I take it you got him squared away?
