Yes, that is the most likely issue.
I was thinking about password encryption or so, but the
thing is that basically the same setup works fine with
the T42p.

And, when using the SAMBA access (evfs.ifs) you specify
all of that in the dialog anyway ...

Well, I commented out the evfs.ifs, and that did not make
a difference ...

OK, thanks a lot, that may help.

One other thing I will try is install a second eCS RC4 using
only the (native) driver for the wired interface, and see if
that CAN connect.

In my initial install I had two NIC's configured, both GenMac
and I tried to use both. Both worked with TCP/IP and both
failed with SMB ...
