Not always. Depending on the chipset SDDGRADD or GENGRADD might work.
Jerry and I are working on a Dell c400, which uses the Intel 830m chipset
which is not supported by SNAP.
The reason this laptop is interesting to this list is that one of its jobs
is to be a wireless access point connecting to the Verizon wireless
broadband network and serving up DHCP connections to almost any wireless
capable box. The list even includes a Treo or two. Not bad for a $250USD
laptop.
