I *was* using SNAP.
Its just that it doesn't support HardWare accelaration
anymore.
VESA is a "compatibillity fallback" mode, which allows
general API functions to be used via an industry
standard interface.
But anything card specific (like HW acceleration)
falls of the wagon in that mode.
