I've got two models of Toshibas - one a model 105, the other a 115 dual
Centrino.  Both install eCS just fine.  Sound works, LAN works, Genmac
recognizes the 3945abg wireless but I haven't had time to fiddle with
WLAN/XWLAN yet.  Only problems with the 105 are the modem naturally won't work
(but I have 3-4 PCMCIA modems that do that job) and I haven't figured out how
to configure SNAP to handle the wide screen at 1280x800.  The image hangsoff
the edges of the screen but it is otherwise usable.  I'm truing to drain the
swamp so that I can mess with the wireless but I'm quite happy with the setup
so far.  Oh, the built-in memory card reader doesn't work yet - forgot that.
Despite some other reports, both the laptops and a couple of assorted desktops
have no problem with the USB interface.  Add the bargain basement price and I'm
quite pleased.

Just another reference point.
