At one time, Jonas approached me to merge the OS/2 Wireless list with the forums over at os2warp.be. I would have probably done that, assuming he offered mailing list support (as so many of our subscribers prefer the mailing list format to forums), but the project hasn't gotten off the ground (of course, that might change, though I am not really of a mind to migrate these lists at this point, having a well-established presence already and also having forums available at http://www.warptech.info (which are well under-used - even by me!).It mentions a forum at the website above but I can't access it. Any idea if it is active?John, see http://www.os2warp.be/index2.php?name=pcmciaentry for a good list of known chipsets and what services driver sets support which ones. I believe yours should be supported by the base OS driver. It is not a CardBUS chipset, either, so this only supports 16-bit slots (and cards).
os2warp.be does look to have a lot of useful information but I'm not sure if it is active any more and I've no idea who is involved with it. Any idea how I can get any further info on any current developments or provide feedback?
There do seem to be many source of info about OS/2, but perhaps there are too many, and with a shrinking number of people involved it is difficult to know which is the best place to go. Some people never use newsgroups, others never use mailing list. Personally I don't like online forums but others do. I just wish there was one place which was reasonably active rather than dozens which were seldom used. I just looked at warptech and it looks dead to me. It probably has some useful info, but I doubt whether you would get any feedback. Most of Warptech's problem is that I haven't had the time to really promote it. I wanted it to serve as a development portal and information exchange, not for the casual user, but for those of us in the trenches, supporting multiple stations for clients (or our own larger networks) and for developers looking for ideas and references. I wanted to migrate this list there, as well, because I wanted a good portion of Warptech to involve networking issues, and even started the wireless FAQ there. Of course, Jonas was hard at work expanding the wireless section of os2warp.be, and he did a fantastic job of it. I suppose I should have provided more feedback and support for him instead of moving off in my own direction.
