I have not realy followed this thread but the stack of OS/2 is not that bad.
You get traps in sockets.sys ?

Have you the the file \mptn\etc\inetcfg.ini ?
At last line does it have the line
SACK 1 0 0 1
Change the first 0 into a one.

Good point, Roderick. I forgot all about that tip.

Which means and does what? I hate it when the fix is "change x to y" with no
explanation.

:-)  Don't you hate stuff like that? My apologies; I probably should have followed up with a bit more explanation. First, a couple quick links:

http://www.os2voice.org/VNL/past_issues/VNL0401H/vnewsft.htm
http://service5.boulder.ibm.com/pspsdocs.nsf/c7a34b35e55986f9862563cc00604815/8a384023f92790f18625653e004eab22?OpenDocument

(The second deals mainly with protecting against SYNFLOODs and SYNATTACKs.)

Just run INETCFG from a command prompt for a quick list of params. In fact, didn't we have a conversation about MULTIDEFRT some time back (you and I)?

Anyway, Roderick's example looks better if you know the column headings:

PARAM     CURRENT     DEFAULT     MINIMUM     MAXIMUM

sack            1           0           0           1

So, the setting above turns on SAck (Selective Acknowledgement) and  shows the default value as off (0). The range of the values  is 0-1, or off and on, for this particular parameter. On my system, the current value is already set to 0, so SAck has been disabled.

To create the INETCFG.INI (if it does not exist in \MPTN\ETC), simply type INETCFG -G ALL. This will write the current stack parameters to the file. once you edit the file, you may read it back in with INETCFG -S ALL (or the parameter of your choice).
