FYI:
The above additions are available for download from http://dlc.sun.com/virtualbox/3.0.6/ . The file you want is VBoxGuestAdditions_3.0.6.iso .
These installed for me without a hitch in an XP SP3 guest, though there was mention of no previous version being found, even though 1.6.6 was installed and running. I was even able to install the "experimental" Direct 3D video driver (though I haven't a clue as to whether it will change the display characteristics in the guest).
The host is a ThinkPad T43, 2GB RAM, eCS 1.2R, SNAP Pro, running Paul's build of VBox 1.6.1.
