however given that the latest versions of VMWare ESXi, Server and Player all work with eComStation 2.0 Silver as a guest, I'd say there's a good chance that (the latest version of) VMWare Workstation should also work.I guess my point was that Workstation includes VMWare Player, but I'm not sure what it's used for. Another machine(s), possibly.
I did, and I did! I tried it again today, twice, including the two long delays for the ISA and PCI snoopers. That was what prompted my question re: MPTN. That's what appeared to cause the traps that killed the install.

do you have the very latest version of VMWare workstation?Yes, updated as of two days ago to the latest.
